FAQ

Why are international age and Korean age different?
Korean counting age starts at 1 at birth and adds a year every January 1. International age starts at 0 and adds a year on each birthday. This causes a difference of 1 to 2 years.
Is Korean age still used after the 2023 law change?
Legally, international age is now official, but counting age persists in casual conversation. It is especially common among older generations.
How is the Chinese zodiac sign determined?
It is determined by the remainder of dividing the birth year by 12. The cycle of Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig repeats every 12 years.
